The VW Bus Type 2 T2, built from 1967, was even more popular than its predecessor, the Type 2 T1. Two and a half million units rolled off the production line by the end of the 1970s. The Bulli, as it is affectionately called to this day, no longer had the cheeky V-shaped bib, but instead had larger windows and other useful improvements. In addition to the bus, there were also panel van and flatbed versions.
The model
My model is a LEGO® replica of the T2b, manufactured from summer 1972. This type can be recognized by the top-mounted indicators at the front and the larger taillights. The characteristic front and the engine are particularly faithfully reproduced. The sliding door is functional, as is the folding seat. The vehicle is scaled to allow for the addition of minifigures, which are not included in the delivery. I now supply the VW T2b in five popular color variants: beige-white, blue-white, lime green-white, orange-white and red-white.
