The first operational squadron of this multi-role aircraft with its delta wing shape was created in 1984 and first entered service in the Gulf War. The light fighter jet became the backbone of the French Air Force. It took part in UN/NATO missions in the wars in Bosnia and Kosovo and later flew in Afghanistan and Syria.
