One of the most successful Mercedes cars ever, the W123 series four-door sedan was built from 1975 to 1986. It was the preferred choice for taxi drivers in Germany and was generally regarded as very reliable, easy to maintain and well built. There were three modifications over the course of the W123's production life. Around 32,000 units of the 280 CE (C stands for coupe, E for injection) were produced. The petrol engine allowed the car to reach 200 km/h and accelerated it from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds.
This car was requested by a colleague at the Winterfeldt market. The biggest challenges were building the model in olive green (a rare color in the LEGO range) and designing the hood. The model is available in five color variants: olive green, black, white, light gray or dark gray.
