Jaguar Mk II – kit from LEGO® bricks

In 1959, Jaguar introduced the Mk II, the successor to its first sporty, compact sedan. Various detailed improvements made the car a real success. This was due to its performance, such as the top speed of up to 201 km/h in the 3.8-liter top version, but also the driving comfort and, last but not least, the spaciousness.

Until this series was discontinued in 1968, 83,500 Mk IIs rolled out of the factory. One of them rose to fame 20 years later in the British television series “Inspector Morse”.

I developed the model at the suggestion of a cousin who, after buying the Jaguar E-type kit based on the design by Peter Blackert, suggested building this type. No sooner said than done – a short time later the model, which matches the scale of the E-type, was on the builder's table. And it is also available in my shop.

In addition to the famous red and black version, I also offer a white model, the original of which is still popular for weddings today. The trio is rounded off by an elegant-looking variant in a classy grey and black color scheme.

I would like to point out that this model is indeed a model, not a toy. It will therefore be much more at home as a stand-alone model in a display case or on a shelf than on the play street.
