In 1950, individuality was over; the German Federal Railway wanted electric locomotives with largely standardized components. The result was the universal locomotive E 10, which was not so universally applicable that more universal locomotives had to be created. But that's another story.
The E 10, later 110, proved its worth in long-distance traffic for many years, but in the 1990s it was used in local traffic. A decade later, the faithful but now outdated workhorses began to be decommissioned and scrapped. A few examples were saved. Among others, they were bought by TRI Train Rental GmbH, which has made it its mission to preserve historical, high-quality rail vehicles.
- Number of original LEGO® bricks: 633
- Dimensions of the model: 26.2 x 5.9 x 11.3 cm
This kit contains the LEGO® bricks for a model of the Deutsche Bundesbahn's electric locomotive 10. The building instructions are not included in the kit. You can find these in the book "Building LEGO locomotives!" by Gabriele Ruthsatz and me.
Please note: The electrical components required to operate the locomotive (motor, battery box and IR receiver) are not included in the kit. However, bricks are included as replacements for the electrical components where they are required for structure/appearance.
I also offer a version of this model with 3 straight track pieces and a nameplate. This version is suitable, for example, if the model is to have a place of honour in the display case.
