Citroën HY 1964 "Olsen Gang" – kit from LEGO® bricks

Special occasions require special vehicles. The infamous Olsen Gang used a stolen Citroën HY in their third film. For a treasure hunt in Jutland, it needed to be a spacious commercial vehicle. On the one hand, for everything you need on a long journey, and on the other hand, for the hoped-for voluminous loot. But of course, things turned out a little differently.

The French van was not to blame for any planning or execution errors made by the trio of thieves. The Citroën HY is a solid and reliable vehicle and also the most widely used van in France. It rolled off the production line in various versions for over 30 years, from 1948 to 1981.

The great popularity of the HY, at least in his homeland, did not stop his compatriots from affectionately but crudely calling him "pig nose". Another quite apt nickname is "corrugated iron hut on wheels". Family researchers, however, claim to have discovered a striking resemblance to Darth Vader from Star Wars.
