Roan antelope – kit from LEGO® bricks

Long, backward-curving horns are the most striking feature of the roan antelope of both sexes. The beautiful animals are relatively large and strong, with a shoulder height of up to 1.4 meters and a weight of up to 270 kilograms, but still have the typical grace and elegance of antelopes.

In general, only the males use their horns as a weapon in territorial fights. The females fulfil other tasks, for example the leader female searches for new pastures in the vast savannahs of Africa. She avoids open fields with low grass as much as possible. Trees and bushes offer much better protection for the herds of twelve to fifteen individuals.
