Koala – kit from LEGO® bricks

The koala is not a bear, but a marsupial mammal. It lives mainly in trees and, alongside the kangaroo, is the most well-known animal in Australia. When it comes to cuteness, its bulbous nose is way ahead. However, this was not enough to protect it for a long time. For the first settlers in Australia, koalas were easy prey.

Today, koalas are protected as much as possible, but their habitat – like that of many other wild species – is constantly shrinking. In addition, they depend on eucalyptus for food, which does not grow everywhere. Eucalyptus is highly toxic for other species. But the peaceful koala, which rests for 20 hours a day – longer than a sloth – gets by very well on this food.
