The latest technology and a beautiful design – the BMW i8 Hybrid is more than just a modern sports car. The revolutionary drive concept was presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in 2009. Production has been underway since 2014.
The technology behind it consists of a so-called plug-in hybrid system. A 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with a turbocharger was combined with an electric drive. Together, the two have 362 hp and bring the speedster to a top speed of 250 kilometres per hour.
The fuel consumption is not easy to determine, it varies between about 2 and 7 liters depending on driving style. The purchase price ensures that the driving pleasure is not too cheap: the coupe costs 135,000 euros, the roadster, which was added in 2017, costs 155,000 euros.
