African elephant – kit from LEGO® bricks

The African elephant is the largest land animal alive today. It can be up to seven and a half meters long from head to torso, with a further one to one and a half meters added for the tail. A fully grown bull has a shoulder height of almost four meters and weighs up to six tons.

The lifestyle of the African elephant is well researched. It is a very social creature that forms family groups and other groups. It sleeps little and mostly while standing, but wanders extensively and feeds exclusively on soft and hard plants.

It is illegally hunted for its tusks, and its large ears and long trunk are also distinctive. The trunk is a truly multifunctional body part. It is used not only for eating, but also for communication and play.
